Frequently asked questions

Do I need to write any test code?

No. You describe the journey in plain English and TLDTrack builds the steps for you using AI, reading the real fields and buttons on your live page. You can reorder, remove and adjust the steps, but there is nothing to code and no framework to learn.

Is this a real browser test or just an uptime check?

A real browser. Each test runs in a headless browser that clicks, types and reads the page like a person, so it catches a broken form or checkout that an uptime ping would never see. Uptime monitoring tells you the site is up; automated testing tells you the journey still works.

Can it test pages behind a login?

Yes. You can add a test-account username and password, which are stored encrypted and never shown again, and the test signs in before it runs. Use a dedicated test account rather than a real customer or admin login.

What happens when a test fails?

You get an alert in your dashboard and inbox naming the step that broke, with a link to the run. The run shows a screenshot of the moment it failed, a per-step log and an AI explanation of what went wrong, so you can fix it before it costs the client.

How often can tests run, and on what devices?

You choose per test: hourly, daily or weekly for ongoing checks, plus a run-now button any time. Each test runs in a desktop or mobile viewport so you can catch issues that only show up on one.

Does it ever submit a real payment?

No. Checkout tests move through the flow up to the payment step to confirm the cart and checkout work, but no card details are ever entered or submitted, so testing never places a real order or charges anyone.

Starter, Pro and Agency include monthly monitoring credits for it, and every paid plan comes with a 7-day free trial. Each test run uses 5 credits, and a run is refunded if the test browser fails to start.
