02 · What we check

What the checker validates

SPF record

Does the sending server pass SPF for the domain? We read the result straight from the message you send, not just the published record.

DKIM signature

Is the message signed with a valid DKIM key, and does the signing domain align? A removed or rotated key shows up here as a failed signature.

DMARC alignment

Does the message pass DMARC as an inbox would see it? Without it, mail can be rejected and anyone can spoof your domain.

Reputation & content

Reverse DNS on the sending IP, its status on 6 blacklists, and content checks on the actual message, such as the plain-text part, link shorteners and unsubscribe headers. The results add up to a score out of 100.

Why this matters now

Since February 2024, Google and Yahoo require all bulk senders to authenticate with SPF, DKIM and DMARC. Mail that fails authentication doesn’t go to spam, it gets rejected outright.

If you send order confirmations, password resets, appointment reminders, marketing campaigns or anything else from your domain, this affects you. Sending a real email through the checker tells you exactly where you stand.

How does the checker work?

You give us your email, we generate a one-time test address, and you send any email to it from the account you want to test. We analyse the real message, its SPF, DKIM and DMARC results, sending IP, reverse DNS, blacklist status and content, and show you the report here and by email. It needs no account.

What do you do with my email address?

We use it to send you your report and occasional monitoring tips, which you can unsubscribe from at any time. The test is not tied to any account and we never sell your data.

How long does the test address last?

Each test address is live for 20 minutes and works once. Most emails are analysed within a few seconds of arriving. If it expires before you send, just start a new one.

How is this different from checking a domain's DNS records?

Reading DNS records tells you what should happen. Sending a real email tells you what actually happens, whether the message authenticates end to end, which IP and platform it came from, and whether its content has common spam triggers.

Can I monitor this across many domains?
