Outside-CF uptime checks

When Cloudflare itself has an incident (it happens), Cloudflare’s own analytics show normal traffic patterns, because no traffic is reaching them. We check from outside CF and tell you the truth.

DNS change detection

Every 3 hours we compare each domain’s A, AAAA, MX, NS, CNAME and TXT records and alert you, naming the record that was added or removed. That catches accidental edits in the Cloudflare dashboard, automated changes from Terraform or the API, and unauthorised changes.

SSL/edge cert expiry

Cloudflare manages your edge certs but their dashboard buries renewal status. We read the certificate your visitors are served, its issuer and expiry date, and alert you 30, 14 and 7 days before it expires.

Origin reachability

A service monitor can watch your origin server directly with an HTTP or port check, so you hear when the origin stops answering even while Cloudflare is still serving cached pages.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to give TLDTrack a Cloudflare API token?

No. We monitor entirely from outside Cloudflare. Your API tokens stay with you.

Won’t Cloudflare cache mask outages?

Edge cache can hide an origin outage. The main uptime check sees what your visitors see. A service monitor on your origin server shows when the origin itself stops answering.

How do you check DNS if Cloudflare is the authoritative resolver?

Our free DNS propagation checker queries around 20 public resolvers worldwide, including Google and Quad9, so you can see what has propagated where. For ongoing monitoring, we look up your main DNS records through public resolvers every 3 hours and alert you when one changes.

What happens during a Cloudflare incident?

TLDTrack’s checks run on AWS, so they keep running. If your site stops responding, you are alerted by email, and by push on paid plans, even while Cloudflare’s own status page is still updating.

Can I monitor 100+ Cloudflare zones?

Pro covers up to 25 sites and Agency up to 100, and every domain counts, subdomains included. You can bring them in with one CSV import. For more than 100, talk to us about Enterprise.
