01 · Real visitors

What the snippet measures

The snippet measures each page view in the visitor's browser and sends one beacon as they leave. Bots and automated browsers are left out.

LCP

Largest Contentful Paint

How long the main content takes to appear. Good is 2.5 seconds or less; poor is over 4 seconds.

INP

Interaction to Next Paint

How quickly the page responds to a tap or click. Good is 200ms or less; poor is over 500ms.

CLS

Cumulative Layout Shift

How much the page moves about as it loads. Good is 0.1 or less; poor is over 0.25.

TTFB

Time to First Byte

How long the server takes to start replying. Good is 800ms or less; poor is over 1.8 seconds.

02 · Lab tests

A weekly PageSpeed run

Every week TLDTrack runs Google PageSpeed Insights on the homepage, on mobile and desktop. It keeps the Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices and SEO scores, the lab timings (LCP, CLS, Total Blocking Time, First Contentful Paint and Speed Index) and a list of fixes ranked by the time they would save. The results build into a 90-day trend.

03 · Alerts

Alerts on a score floor

Set a minimum PageSpeed score for mobile, desktop or both, anywhere from 1 to 100. The default is 50. When the latest weekly run is below your minimum, you get an alert.

Real-visitor figures are there to read in the dashboard and in client reports. They do not raise alerts on their own.

04 · Plans

Which plans include it

Real-visitor figures come from the analytics snippet, which counts page views against your plan's monthly allowance.

06 · Questions

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from PageSpeed Insights?

PageSpeed Insights times a test page load in a lab. The snippet measures real visits on real devices. TLDTrack shows both: real-visitor figures from the snippet, and a weekly lab run for the scores and fixes.

Do I get an alert when a Core Web Vital gets worse?

Not directly. Alerts come from the minimum PageSpeed score you set. Real-visitor figures are shown in the dashboard and in client reports.

Are the figures per page?

No. Real-visitor figures cover the whole site, and the weekly PageSpeed run tests the homepage.

Will my figures match Google Search Console?

They will be close but not the same. Search Console uses Chrome users over 28 days. TLDTrack uses every visit that loads the snippet over 30 days, and measures INP and CLS slightly more strictly, so those two can read a little worse.

Does it work on single-page apps?

The snippet measures the first page load of each visit. Later route changes inside a single-page app are not measured separately.

What do I need to install?

One script tag on the site, with analytics switched on for the domain. It is the same snippet that powers heatmaps and traffic figures.
