Website change monitoring

Website change monitoring that shows you what changed

Website change monitoring checks a page on a schedule and tells you when it changes. TLDTrack captures the pages you choose, compares the area or element you picked with the version you approved, and alerts you with before, after and difference images.

01 · Steps

How it works

01

Choose what to watch

Pick an element TLDTrack finds on any page of your site, or mark out the area you care about.

02

TLDTrack saves the baseline

The first capture becomes the approved version. Setting the baseline does not use a credit.

03

It checks on your schedule

Choose hourly, every 6 hours, every 12 hours, daily or weekly. Each check loads the page in Chrome at full height, waits for it to settle and scrolls so lazy-loaded images appear.

04

You get an alert when it changes

When more than 1% of the watched area differs, you get an alert by email, push, SMS, Slack or Teams. Accept the change as the new baseline in one click, or fix the page.

02 · Coverage

What it catches

Watch a whole area of a page, or one value on it.

Visual

A visible change in an area

A banner disappears, a layout breaks, a logo is swapped. The area is compared pixel by pixel with the baseline.

Text

A line of text changes

An opening time, a phone number, a headline. TLDTrack finds the element by its CSS selector on every check and compares the text itself.

Price

A price moves

Alert on any change, only when it goes up or down, or when it crosses a value you set.

Presence

Something appears or disappears

A sold-out badge, a cookie banner, a checkout button.

Rules

A rule written in plain English

Watch up to 10 elements together and describe the change you care about. When something changes, an AI model checks whether it matches your rule.

Stale

Something that should change but has not

A news feed, an events list or a stock count that has not moved for a set number of hours, days or weeks.

03 · Alongside

Checks on the page source

Visual monitors watch what a visitor sees. Content checks read the page source on a schedule you set, from hourly to weekly, and use no credits.

  • A keyword or tracking ID goes missing from a page
  • Placeholder text such as lorem ipsum goes live
  • The homepage is blocked from search by robots.txt or a noindex tag
  • A required security header disappears
  • Files such as wp-login.php or readme.html are publicly reachable
  • Tracking codes are added, removed or changed, when the TLDTrack tracking script is on the site
  • WordPress plugins are installed, removed, updated or switched on or off, with the free plugin

Every alert lands in the same dashboard as your uptime, SSL and DNS alerts.

04 · Cost

What a check costs

1

visual credit per check

Each visual check uses one visual credit. A monitor checked daily uses about 30 a month and an hourly one about 720. If your credits run out, checks are skipped until your allowance renews. Nothing is charged automatically.

06 · Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is website change monitoring?

It is checking a web page on a schedule and alerting you when it changes. TLDTrack compares a capture of the area you choose, or the value of the element you choose, with the version you approved.

How often can TLDTrack check a page?

Hourly, every 6 hours, every 12 hours, daily or weekly, set per monitor. The default is daily. Your first check runs within the hour.

Will a rotating banner set off alerts all day?

A visual monitor only alerts when more than 1% of the watched area changes, and embedded frames such as ads and videos are hidden during checks. Draw the box around the part that matters rather than the whole page, or watch a single element instead.

Can I watch one price or one line of text?

Yes. Click the element in the studio and choose text, price, presence or attribute. TLDTrack finds it by its CSS selector on every check, so the result does not depend on reading pixels.

Does it capture the mobile layout?

Visual monitors capture one desktop-width view, 1280 pixels wide unless you set another width when you create the monitor.

What happens when a change is intended?

Accept it as the new baseline from the alert or the monitor, and TLDTrack compares future checks with the new version.
