01 · Across sites

What you see across every site

Updates

Pending updates on every site

The WordPress column in the sites table shows how many core, plugin and theme updates are waiting on each site. Filter the table to WordPress sites only.

Alerts

Plugin and admin changes

Plugins installed, removed, updated, activated or deactivated, and admin accounts added or removed. WordPress alerts are their own group, so each contact chooses whether to get them.

Remote

Updates from the dashboard

Queue a plugin, theme or core update for a site. The site picks it up within about 15 minutes, or straight away when it answers a wake call, and reports back.

Branding

Your name in their admin

Show a banner and dashboard widget in each client's WordPress admin with your name, logo, colours and support details.

02 · Steps

Setting it up

01

Add the sites

Paste a list, upload a CSV or import from WHM. TLDTrack spots which sites run WordPress.

02

Connect each site

Install the free plugin on each site. Each install connects with its own key, linked to the client or site it belongs to, and reports straight away, then twice a day and after every update.

03

Choose who hears what

Opt contacts into WordPress alerts, and add a Slack or Teams channel if you want them there too.

03 · No plugin

Sites without the plugin

Sites without the plugin still get uptime, SSL, domain expiry, DNS, Google malware checks, PageSpeed and email checks, plus content checks for a database error, maintenance mode, debug output or an exposed login page. A security scan on a WordPress site also runs WPScan.

04 · Good to know

Before you rely on it

  • Admin accounts are checked at each report, twice a day, so a new admin is not flagged the moment it is created.
  • Each update is queued for one site at a time. There is no update-everything button.
  • TLDTrack does not take backups. Take your own before running updates.
  • Dashboard updates need plugin version 3.3.0 or later.

06 · Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the plugin on every site?

Only for the WordPress alerts and remote updates. Uptime, SSL, DNS, malware and the other outside checks work without it.

Does TLDTrack back up a site before updating?

No. Take your own full backup first. The update screen reminds you before anything runs.

Does it warn me about vulnerable plugins?

Not as an alert. A security scan runs WPScan on WordPress sites and lists what it finds in the report.

Which plan suits an agency?

Pro covers 25 sites and 5 team members, with scheduled client reports. Agency covers 100 sites and 20 team members, and the reports carry only your branding.

Is the plugin free?

Yes. It costs nothing to install on any site you monitor.
